This year’s #The100dayproject is taking place between April 2- July 10. Over the years, I’ve attempted to complete the 100 days but have never managed to. I’ve tried it with black out poetry, collage, photography but have never managed to reach the 100 mark, giving up in the first few weeks.
2019 has been a different year. As I have already completed #100daysofabstracts and feel much more confident in my practice as well as completing the official 100 day project challenge.
This is where my love of creating black women comes in.
The task is simple, for the duration of the project, I intend to create paintings, sketches, collages of black women’s faces and bodies. I’ve been sharing my progress on Instagram and now I’m ready to share them here.
I feel that within the mainstream art world and history, there are just not enough positive and empowering images of black women. I intend to change the narrative, to create images within which I can see myself reflected.
At some point, I hope to set up my Etsy store and sell paints of my creations. Until then, I’ll share a selection here.

I love these, they are amazing! Sharon @faithnomatterwhat
