“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”
― Ansel Adams
My photography is a reflection on the self, the light and shadow within. I journey to these realms through art, nature, and womanhood. I attempt to capture my everyday, my life in an honest and open way. I hope to reflect my truths in the process leading me closer to my own voice.
A photograph has the power to show a story within the moment captured, within the light and shade. Sometimes I might have a story in my head as I release the button. Other times, most of the time, I leave it up to the compositions and viewers to create their own stories. I only know that when I point the lens and push the button, I feel something; joy, pain, anger, stillness. The list goes on.
I learn by practice. I am a self-taught photographer coming back to this art form after a disconnection.
